How do you feel about the prevalence of pornography on the Worldwide Web?

C. Delores Tucker hated it.

Her husband didn't.

What's your take?

TELL THE TRUTH--

THE RULE NEVER CHANGES.

lol! delores tucker did hate it. and unfortunately, people hated her for hating it. however, i don't see anything wrong with people exercising their first amendment rights. as far as i know, the people who are doing it are doing so because they want to, i don't see any one sided messages being sent due to it (the male gets down just like the female), and lastly if that is how they wish to be paid - more power to em.

i think what delores tucker hated more was the issue of self-degradation. is it considered "immoral" in our society's standards? Yes. however, i wonder if this would fit in the same umbrella of everything she fought for? this raises so many issues. i'm on a law school break, this is too much! great blog btw.

It may be considered immoral, but its still a multi BILLION dollar industry.

It is the oldest profession as well.

P.S. She does quality work

Savvy, I didn't mean to take you back to your exams! LOL! I was blown away by the high percentage of American porn companies! I've noticed that the business of porn is HUGE here on the West Coast, and upstart companies are announcing themselves constantly with industry parties that are advertised in the fashion of movie and symphony hall openings. The industry's growth is nearly doubling year by year! Amazing...and thanks for the good word on the blog!

Andrew (great name!), do you equate porn completely with prostitution? I would love to hear your answer.

I am not apart of the 28%

V, I'm sure you aren't...

Porn is sometimes a treat to watch.

Overall, I still think it's immoral. I even feel guilty sneaking peeks. My wife gives me mad drama when she finds out I perused a site. I guess it doesn't matter that she doesn't "express" herself on the regular like she used to. Which is probably another reason why it's big with men.

It seems to be easy money, but not sure if I would like to see any of the women I know doing it for a living.

That's just my take

Porn vs Prositution shit you could write a whole blog on that. I would say they're one in the same. The difference is marketing and profit potential. Porn is you have a good lawyer can be like writing a book or making a cd you can make residual money off it. Prositution after he cums you are pretty much made all your money.

Porn is considered a legitimate business so you get tax breaks and less police probing (LOL no pun intended)

Rich, the toughest thing about marriage is keeping things spicy. Men are more visual creatures, too. Porn does seem to be catching on with the ladies now. In fact, women are pushing the sales up year by year. Some porn is directly aimed at (straight) women viewers. Who knows--the wife might find something she likes.

Andrew, you make a good point. Ancient Romans even had "legal" prostitution (they called it "worship" for a few gods) and "interesting advertising" (pornographic images on temple walls and statues that celebrated good ol' fashioned "skeeting"). The oldest profession...

Being a bi sexual female or a female that will let another female go down on you is almost "in" right now. I frequently have conversations with women about what is their type of lady.

All advertisement have some form of sex appeal in it. Commercials might not be considered porn but they do have suggestive body langauge of barely dressed people.

Drew, I appreciate the added thoughts! You're right, and it isn't a matter of morality or religious beliefs anymore. I've met more than a few women who subscribe to the same behavior that they hate in men: "She can lick me all she wants--that doesn't make me a lesbian!" Television, movies, music, and art are shifting things to a whole different way these days.

I wonder: am I old-fashioned if I don't dig ALL of the changes?

excellent topic.

I think that porn runs it's course in our modern society. When I was a kid, I watched the movie "porky's"...the curiousity did it at that point and watching showtime after dark was like whoa.

however the real hardcore porn has eluded my taste. I wa able to become a sexual deviant without it...LOL!!!

Unknown said...

Shhhhh...don't tell nobody, maaaaan! LOL! I think a ton of us had our hormone levels blown up by PORKY'S back in the day. I remember a time when my idea of "dirty movies" was watching FAME on HBO and feeling happier than a thief in a cracked vault every time the scene where the guys climb to a hiding spot above the ladies' locker room and check out one girl who is BLESSED (sorry, ladies--I'm a chest man). That was the beginning of my perversion!

Oh, and did I become a slut! LOL!

My first porn was Purple Rain...

dc_speaks said...

Dude, you have made it to the ranks of DC's links of family members with your expression of deviancy. Welcome!

Unknown said...

Sheletha--PURPLE RAIN? Once again, Prince pulls another one!

DC, I proudly accept this honor on behalf of all the bruhs out there who love a good set of curves--and geometry AIN'T the subject! That reminds me: Time for the updated full-body view, Cap! LOL!

Andrew The Asshole said...

Yeah will women subscribing to this behavior I they really be mad at the men that do the same.

Ced it doesn't make you old fashion to not like that behavior! I can't say I would marry a female that was out there like that, but I guess that make it wrong for me to be out there enjoy the females that are deviant?

I'm sure porn and personal experiences have led to my deviant behavior

hahahahaha...DC, I proudly accept this honor on behalf of all the bruhs out there who love a good set of curves--and geometry AIN'T the subject!

thats pretty funny!

Hush, Ced - u can't be revealing capSecrets, now! Besides if u interested in the frontal view I cayn't He'p ya! LOL! This was seriously interesting & despite what I thought of the visuals it was an interesting way to present the stats & info.
I agree w/ Andrew about the oldest profession - how can u really separate them out?
I'm surprised that no one brought up the famous red-light district with it's legal governed dealings in this industry. And then there's the increase in the Hedonisms & similar type resorts.

I guess I'm just a "bore" - My greatest fantasy NOW: ONE sane, faithful, healthy, clean, spiritual Brother who can KEEP UP!!! LOL!

Man With Balls said...

Of course you know, I have no problem with porn.

I'm still waiting for Girly Girl's XXX-rated comments. Anything less just wouldn't be civilized.

DC, yooooo stoooopid!

Andrew, I'm with you: a lady should never knock a man on anything that she would happily enjoy when he can't see her.

Cap, FULL-BODY was more the notion I had. I wouldn't have you undressing for the cast of characters here! You'd NEVER get any peace, then! LOL! I didn't think about the "red light" districts! It's interesting how that one "legal" aspect of sexual professions entwines pornography and prostitution. Great point!

That's another subject worthy of research!

Thank you all for your insight and expression.

one man's porn is another man's art! as an ardent purveyor of "art" in my youth, it is good to see that some things never change... there will always be a market (a BIG MARKET) for purveyors of "art"! *smile*

Unknown said...

Plez, don't have your lady checking your computer for "art" tonight! LOL! Thanks for stopping by!
