The Game of Kings: How Hip Hop's Embrace of Chess is Uplifting Young Minds

This ABC News report is a welcome break from the norm of misunderstandings and bad presumptions about hip hop culture. I wanted to do a long writeup on my take, but my heart wouldn't allow me to chance taking away from such a great story. Enjoy.

I know you posted this a long time ago, but it's a good story. My uncle taught me chess when I was somewhere around 10 or 11. It's a great game. Definitely, for thinkers. I need to teach my kids.

Forgive me, fam. I JUST noticed this comment! It's interesting: my uncle taught me how to play chess at age 9, too. I'm no champion at it, but I see something in it that a friend says constantly--that you can see anyone's personality in their game play. I don't play to win, I play to grow.
