New Music Spotlight: Erykah Badu
Erykah Badu directed the concept video for her new single, "Honey" (CD in stores in February...maybe). The song is dope (yes, I still use that word), the concept is funny; and I give E. Badu much respect for the reminder to support local record stores in your community. Find them in the yellow pages and show some cash love; they are the last remaining vestiges of the old-school American community entrepeneurial spirit (keep a "big box" store out of your community if you can).
Question: Can you name every album she spoofs in the video?

Chaka Khan (always luved that lip sofa;-), Diana Ross (is boss of coss;-),??, Eric B. & Rakim, Ohio Playahz, Minnie Riperton (did u know it's her daughter Maya on SNL?;-), LaBelle, DeLaSoul, Beatles(?),??, Olivia Newton John (?), Grace Jones, ?No idea who that "live" performance was, nor the "naked" brothers?, Yoko Ono & John Lennon...How'd I do for an "old head"? huh?

"OLD head?!" Yada yada yada...is how I feel about THAT question! LOL! I forgot the Yoko/John cover--good catch! Maya's fine self doesn't have chops like her wonderfully-talented/dearly departed mother, but she does make me laugh! I like the concept and the song's beat (dig that sample), but I'm still waiting for E. Badu to push the lyrics up a bit.

BD, Cap was, like any good former military hottie, giving attention to detail! I asked about THE ALBUM COVERS alone because the Andre 3000 spoof was too easy!
