...And Her Name Means "Hope"

I'm a sucker for young artists who have old-school music leanings. Esperanza Spalding is a new name for me, but I predict that I'll listen to her for a lifetime. Thanks to Okayplayer for giving me a fresh dose of new sound.

She's pretty cool. I could write with her playing in the background.

What's been up. Your girls got me traveling, haven't been able to make the rounds lately.

Yeah, I agree. I've been writing to that song WHEN I write. I walked away from the keyboard for while, writing only necessary emails and quick comments on the few blogs that I regularly check (when I check). Back to the artist: Esperanza reminds me of one of my nieces and makes me wonder if my brother's musically gifted genes passed to that niece. As for the traveling, it sounds as though the state-to-state push is paying off. I hear that the book is moving well. I'm proud, man. Great job by all of you...
